![]() Every resident has reactions to specific item categories, such as fish, items from the dig site, tools, fresh crops/byproducts from your farm, cooked food, and so on, if they don’t feel like taking the item as a gift.We had to keep this in mind when working with this line to account for several contexts, so the final English text could not have any mention of what Cole was looking forward to, since he can’t eat the coins or crystals or flowers you find him! Because we had prior information from playing the original as kids, we were able to parse this out ourselves, but that was only the tip of the text file iceberg.ĭue to their busy schedule, the developers for the remake were unable to give us full context on how residents’ reactions to items truly worked until our LQA pass, and during this time, we learned just how complicated this text system was. ![]() Not.all the time, and this is why context, LQA (localization quality assurance), and playtesting are so important for games like STORY OF SEASONS and Rune Factory! Cole can use this very same reaction when he receives one of his favorite NON-food items (like, say, a coin from the dig site), which resulted in him sounding like he was going to chow down on an old coin way back when. You’d probably assume, “Oh, he’s looking forward to eating it, right?” So let’s say the text ID is the only context you have, and it’s the first time you’re seeing this. Literally, it reads, “Oh, I’m real grateful for that! You’re a good person, whippersnapper. ![]() Now, let’s take a look at the corresponding Japanese text. The “a” at the end here indicates that this text is for when Cole (or Pasaran, his Japanese name,) accepts a gift. Let’s take a closer look at the text in question so you can get a better idea of what we mean. In fact, one of the reasons we were able to identify this issue specifically was because the majority of our team had played the original version, and had context on what sort of scenarios Charlie and Cole’s reaction text would be used in! Here’s a question for some longtime series fans: in the original AWL, do you remember what Charlie and/or Cole’s response was when you gave them a coin from the ruins? They’d tell you that they couldn’t wait to eat your coin, which probably seemed a bit off to most farmers.īut here’s the thing: there’s a legitimate reason that some gift reactions in the original game were hard to pin down for a single context! It takes a lot to know when a certain resident reaction/response will be used in this game, and what sort of items that response is for. Without the need for external rail attachments, the M-LOK attachment system provides the shooter a smooth profile for better hand placement on handguards. In comparison, since the M-LOK system does not utilize an external rail for attachment and does not require clearance for attaching devices, an M-LOK system can have a smaller overall outer diameter. A quad rail (top, bottom and sides) requires space for the external rail as well as clearance for the equipment being attached. It may seem obvious at this point, but Picatinny rail systems require larger outer diameters than M-LOK systems. In general, M-LOK systems weigh less than their Picatinny counterparts because they don’t require the extra mass of external rails. The reverse is also true: the lighter a forend or handguard is, less effort is required to hold the gun in place. The more weight applied to the weapon system and the farther away it’s located from the shooter, the greater amount of force is required to keep it lifted on a target. Removal of M-LOK mounts and devices is achieved by loosening each hex screw about a quarter turn and slipping the lever out of the slot.īy definition, adding equipment to the front end of a rifle or carbine means adding weight. The internal lever sandwiches the mount between the M-LOK slot to hold the mounting system in place. An M-LOK mount uses two or more internal levers that are inserted into the slot and tightened with a hex wrench to achieve a proper and secure mount. In contrast to the Picatinny rail system, the M-LOK system uses a slot instead of an outward-facing rail to attach accessories. Back-up Iron Sights - Secondary sighting options.Iron Sights - Primary or backup sighting options.Night Vision - IR illumination, target aiming and clip-on style optics.Rail Panels - Heat mitigation and offhand stability.Angled Foregrips - Offhand weapon stability.Vertical Foregrips - Offhand weapon stability.Lasers - Visible and Infrared (IR) aiming devices.Lights - Flashlights for target identification.Optics - Forward-mounted red dot optics.Let’s take a look at some of the accessories that are using the M-LOK standard. Manufacturers of accessories are beginning to prefer the M-LOK system for its weight savings, adaptability and cost savings. The options for weapon accessories are nearly endless with more products entering the market every year. Let’s take a look at 7 benefits of the M-LOK Rail system. Today, nearly every AR-15 or AR-10 patterned rifle or carbine is either outfitted from the factory or has the ability to be easily modified to accept a wide range of accessories, using either Picatinny rails or the M-LOK attachment system. Built specifically around the M4 carbine and the Rail Interface System (RIS), the SOPMOD program gave root to accessory attachment capabilities to rifles as well as other carbines. The idea was to give operators the ability to attach a variety of different equipment to a wider selection of weapon systems depending on the mission. KAC still manufactures a few quads, but they aren’t cheap and done in pretty limited numbers.Historically, the requirement to attach accessories to a weapons platform started in the 1970's and grew into the Special Operations Peculiar MODification (SOPMOD) program that was finalized in the early 1990's. There just isn’t a viable argument for a full quad outside of aesthetics for the vast majority of end users. That is a beautiful rail and exactly what I would want, I dont know why all these company's stopped making quadsīecause large frame platforms are heavy enough as is and the vast majority of the market is trending towards lighter and more modular components across the board. One other thing, you need to find the DD AR10 Like Rail Barrel Nut Wrench, also no longer made, but there is another firm making them and I bought one of those and it works well. Love the thing, shoots great and it really has me wondering if I want to try to continue the oddesy to try to find parts on my own to build a MK11 Mod 0 and/or find a KAC rifle to update to a MK11. I was able to get one and used it to build a 16" rifle and I have to tell you it far surpassed my expectations. ![]() They don't make them anymore, but you do see them pop up every now and then. Rock solid once you get it all tightened down. So looking for one to use on a AR-10 has been frustrating to say the least until one day I saw a post somewhere that referenced a Daniel Defense 7.62 Lite Rail. I love the look and feel of the KAC FF RAS and have a bunch of carbines, MK12/SAM-R rifles as well as some of the parts to build a MK11 Mod 1 (the ultimate expression of the FF RAS IMHO). I too have two AP M5 sets and only had enough funds/parts to build one this spring when in lockdown. Been there, done that, feel your pain OP. ![]() These open during yawning or swallowing, or during Valsalva maneuvers (forcing positive pressure to open the eustachian tube by blowing against a closed nasopharynx). The Eustachian tube helps equilibrate the pressure in the middle ear with the external atmosphere via the levator and tensor veli palati muscles. Posterior to this is an ossicular structure that remains open. The anterior aspect is a mucosa-lined structure adjacent to the nasopharynx that is flat at rest. This anatomy further divides into two separate parts. The middle ear begins behind the tympanic membrane (TM) and communicates via the eustachian tube with the nasopharynx. The middle and inner ear are air-filled spaces that are essential for both hearing and spatial orientation. Such areas include the inner ear, lungs (specifically relative to pneumothoraces), and potentially any air-filled instruments like a balloon cuff on an endotracheal tube (ET). The increase in the volume occupied by gas at higher altitudes can have adverse effects on various body sites sensitive to changes in air volume and pressure. An understanding of flight physiology is essential, as even an increase of 1000 to 1500 feet above sea level can cause gas expansion leading to clinical significance in the critically ill. Additional physiological factors of high altitude transport, the details of which are beyond the scope of this discussion, include decreasing temperatures, dehydration, and gravitational forces.Ī typical helicopter pre-hospital transport reaches altitudes of 1000 to 3500 feet above ground level, while airplane transport typically transports at altitudes of 10000 to 40000 ft above sea level. In-flight hypoxia as altitude increases can have a marked clinical significance in the transport of the critically ill. One report demonstrated a decrease of 32 mm Hg, from 159 at sea level to 127 at the height of 6200 feet. Īnother physiological factor that changes with altitude is the decrease in the partial pressure of oxygen as height above sea level increases this leads to a reduction in FiO2 (fraction of inspired oxygen) at a higher altitude compared to sea level. Fortunately, acceptable cabin altitude levels, or the atmospheric height experienced inside a flight cabin, have been safely increased over time due to aircraft and technologic improvements. This setting is possible through in-cabin pressurization, thereby decreasing barotraumatic risks that would be in effect at higher altitudes. Federal regulations, such as those promulgated by the FAA, require cabin pressure to be below atmospheric pressure equal to the pressure at 8000 feet above sea level. These physiological factors affect both helicopter pre-hospital transport and aeromedical airplane transport. These changes are demonstrated by the fact that atmospheric pressure at 10000 feet is 10.1 pounds per square inch (psi) (68 kPa), compared to 14.7 psi (101 kPa) at ground level. Boyle’s law explains that “the volume of a gas is inversely proportional to the pressure to which it is subjected.” Based on this law, pressure decreases with increased altitude, thereby causing an increase in the volume of gas. An understanding of flight and altitude physiology is essential to prevent pre-hospital fight-induced barotrauma. Known triggers of urticaria should be avoided.Physiologic parameters at high altitudes vary from those at sea level. Doxepin, calcium channel blockers, or immunosuppresive drugs may be needed for symptoms that are not well controlled with antihistamines. Patients should avoid identified allergens. The use of both H 1 and H 2 receptor blockers has been recommended but has not been proven more effective. Treatmentĭrugs that block histamine-1 (H 1) receptors (antihistamines) are the primary treatment for urticaria. Angioedema is frequently associated with urticaria. It affects people of all ages but is most common between the ages 20 and 40. Urticaria is a primary sign of local and systemic anaphylactic reactions. Often raisins, walnuts, or pecans are added to the traditional butter tart, although the acceptability of such additions is a matter of national debate. The butter tart is different from pecan pie in that it has a "runnier" filling due to the omission of corn starch. The butter tart is different from the sugar pie given the lack of flour in the filling. Traditionally, the English Canadian tart consists of butter, sugar, and eggs in a pastry shell, similar to the French-Canadian sugar pie, or the base of the U.S. Because of this, the appearance and physical characteristics of the butter tart – the firmness of its pastry, or the consistency of its filling – also vary. Recipes for the butter tart vary according to the families baking them. The butter tart should not be confused with butter pie (a savoury pie from the Preston area of Lancashire, England) or with bread and butter pudding. The sweet tart consists of a filling of butter, sugar, syrup, and egg, baked in a pastry shell until the filling is semi-solid with a crunchy top.
